New Crestron design templates for iPad interfaces

Crestron Standard for iPad®, the new VT Pro-e design template for the Apple® iPad®, is now available and offers programmers a simpler way to deliver more dynamic user experiences to their clients. Crestron has long been the industry’s pioneer in controls and with this new standard, Crestron makes incorporating an iPad into an automated set up incredibly simple, without compromising on the user experience.

Crestron’s standard for iPad provides a brand new graphical user interface (GUI) design. The new template delivers a complete overhaul of our default GUI and incorporates many new graphical elements, icons, and button styles. These new features will help dealers & programmers to create more sophisticated and modern interfaces for their clients based on our new Core 3 UI™ and several familiar iOS apps.

“We have been fans of the iPad for a long time and really see a place for it alongside our existing controls as it has been key in opening up the market to new users,” says Robin van Meeuwen, VP of Sales and Marketing at Crestron. “What we achieve with our new standard is to take the very best elements of Crestron control and combine them with the iPad’s flexibility and portability, it’s the ideal way to supplement an existing Crestron solution and an important service for our dealers to offer their clients.”

Crestron Standard for iPad provides a great starting point for design and can be easily customised for new projects. Additionally, integrators & programmers can use the template to create new menu elements that will automatically change position based on the screen orientation of the iPad.

Authorised dealers and partners can download the new Crestron Standard for iPad template now at the GUI Design Resources page.

Core 3UI

Core 3 UI gives Crestron programmers the ability to design dynamic touch screen interfaces to control all aspects of an integrated smart building in almost half the time. The result also provides end users with the latest in dynamic interfaces that are intuitive to use for the ultimate user experience.

The unique Core 3 UI platform supports multiple Adobe® Flash® objects, HTML5, digital HD video, H.264 streaming video and web browsing all at the same time. State-of-the-art technology such as SmartObjects™ and SmartScaling™ make it easy for programmers to deliver extremely engaging setups and simple operation for the whole family to use.

With Core 3 UI, customers can easily select their favourite movie in any room of the house by simply dragging and dropping the Blu-ray Disc® player icon into the preferred room on the touch screen. Programmers can even personalise the display by utilizing a wide selection of pre-installed Core 3 UI objects – the options are virtually endless.

Core 3 UI’s SmartObjects technology enables programmers to instantly add controls, user presets, and metadata interfaces for everything from simple keypads to complex media devices and environmental systems. Adding complex pre-configured objects such as ADMS™ and iPod® interfaces to a project is as simple as adding a button using the drag-and-drop operation, cutting days of programming time to hours or even minutes.
